In this guide, you can learn how to change your "level seed" on your PineRiver Minecraft server. A seed is the code used to generate the unique world you play in.

Important: This change will only take effect if you generate a new world.

Method 1: Via the "Configs" menu (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your PineRiver GamePanel.
  2. Navigate to the left sidebar and select Configs (under 'Management').
  3. Find the LEVEL SEED field on the right side.
  4. Enter your desired seed. This can be numbers (e.g., -123456) or text (e.g., pineriverisawesome).
  5. Scroll down and press Save.
  6. Restart your server. If you want to be sure that a new world is generated, you must first delete your old "world" folder under Files.

Method 2: Direct editing of "server.properties"

  1. Log in to your PineRiver GamePanel.
  2. Go to Files via the left sidebar.
  3. Find and click on the server.properties file to open it in the editor.
  4. Find the line called level-seed=.
  5. Enter your desired seed directly after the equals sign (e.g., level-seed=mynewseed123).
  6. Press Save Content at the top right.
  7. Restart your server. Remember to delete your old "world" folder if you want to force the server to generate a new world.

Tip: A "level seed" is only used when a world is first generated. If you change your seed but keep your old "world" folder, absolutely nothing will happen. You must delete or rename your old "world" folder to force the server to create a new world with your new seed.
